Inkster, MI (October 3, 2016) — Midwest Recycling has made a pledge to donate $35,000 to show its support of the American Red Cross.
“Our team at Midwest Recycling is proud to partner with the American Red Cross in an effort to help those in need,” said Abe Hachem, president and CEO of Midwest Recycling. “Our recycling program is not only an effective green initiative for municipalities and organizations throughout Southeast Michigan, we are focused on charitable giving.”
The Inkster-based company is a worldwide distributor of used clothing and shoes for women, children and families in need, specializing in the placement and maintenance of more than 600 bins in partnership with Greater Detroit and Southeast Michigan communities, businesses, public schools, houses of worship.
“The generosity shown by Midwest Recycling toward our mission is a wonderful example of a business making a difference,” said Kimberly Burton, Regional Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross of Michigan. “The humanitarian work we conduct in communities all across Southeast Michigan, such as our remarkable Home Fire Campaign and other ongoing disaster relief efforts, would not be possible without strong corporate support such as this. As a result, we’re able to be there for all when our aid is needed most.”
The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Through its strong network of volunteers, donors and partners, the American Red Cross prides its self on always being there in times of need.
“As CEO of Midwest Recycling, I am honored to work with such distinguished leaders who share a mission of helping our communities,” said Hachem. “We have chosen to partner with the American Red Cross in our recycling efforts, because of their dedication and compassion to those who are in most need of assistance.”
